Sea Safety Officer, Jeff Allen

Jeff is a BCU Level 4 Coach (Sea) and part owner of Sea Kayaking Cornwall. As the Sea Safety Officer (SSO), Jeff has responsibility for the race on the water and will decide whether to run, shorten, cancel or otherwise alter kayaking legs, according to the sea state and weather conditions.

Jeff has worked in the marine industry for over twelve years, employed in a variety of jobs, from fishing commercially to delivering yachts. His kayaking experience includes two months paddling the west coast of Scotland, a six month long circumnavigation of Japan and another, last winter with three others around South Georgia.
